Words and music by Ben Hunsberger 21 Oct 2005 © 2005 Ben Hunsberger From far away through dark of space The sun's rays reach Earth A feathered form circles endlessly And casts a silent shadow On everything beneath I am one who falls within the shadow of the eagle. For one whose childhood ran its course Protected from every harm The great bird's reach and snowy head Was a symbol, a silent messenger Protection from the storm. A silent messenger. I am one who lives within the shadow of the eagle. One painter's brush is tipped with blue To paint the boldest sky Horizons lit with purple hues And gold the eagle's eye. One painter paints a darker sky A hopeless scene of grays and blacks Vast and desperate, full of fear No sun to light the eagle's back I am one who knows the sun makes the shadow of the eagle. For those who twist a sign of strength into belligerence and fear There is no bird to lend its name To the twisted truths, the practiced tear I am the one to name your name. I am one to call you out from the shadow of the eagle I am one to challenge you to the shadow of the eagle I am one to stake my claim to the shadow of the eagle.

Words and music by Ben Hunsberger 29 Jul, 2006 © 2006 Ben Hunsberger Can't pretend I didn't know I waded in too deep Can't pretend I didn't know How deep it was. I understand it's stupid No argument from me Really should have noticed Just how deep it was. Could have kept my mouth shut But I pitched my two cents in Shouldn't be surprised How deep it was. It all seemed so innocent Just to wet my feet Didn't pay attention to How deep it was. Suddenly I'm struggling to stay above the water Wishing that I'd found a better way to say what I mean It's a tragedy I didn't see How deep was the water. Carlessly forgotten Important things you said Better off remembering How deep it was. I'll never get another chance To be sensitive To care about your hurt and How deep it was.

inhibited 04:03
Words and music by Ben Hunsberger Aug, 2006 © 2006 Ben Hunsberger I'm a quiet boy Don't draw attention to myself Just a little mouse Keeping close to the wall where you won't see me I'm a quiet boy Rather not make your acquaintance Just a little mouse Sweaty finger twitching on the trigger of a gun Please don't say my name Please don't look at my face I don't want to be your friend I'm inhibited. I'm a quite boy Anonymous login to a private chat Just a little mouse Untraceable hacker on the company line I'm a quite boy Barely a heartbeat, check my pulse Just a little mouse Eighteen years now, I think you'd better run Please don't say my name Please don't look at my face I don't want to be your friend I'm inhibited. I'm a quiet boy Don't draw attention to myself Just a little mouse Keeping close to the wall where you won't see me I'm a quite boy Barely a heartbeat, check my pulse Just a little mouse Eighteen years now, I think you'd better run Please don't say my name Please don't look at my face I don't want to be your friend I'm inhibited.

answer me 06:04
Words and music by Ben Hunsberger 29 Aug, 2006 © 2006 Ben Hunsberger Will we all be here in the morning? Will the sun appear at all? I can hardly wait to hear your answer, If you answer me at all. Will the road be clear in the morning With a path away from here? I can hardly wait to hear your answer If you answer me at all. Will you share a dream in the morning Or defend your flawless past? I can hardly wait to know your thinking If you ever give a thought. If you're thinking much at all. Will you sound alarm in the morning As we flounder in the tides? I can hardly breathe until you answer For a chance to sink or die. If you answer me at all.

fooled again 03:26
Words and music by Ben Hunsberger July, 2006 © 2006 Ben Hunsberger Surely we're safer than we were yesterday All the horses are grazing green meadows of hay And we're flying buck naked, good to see you my friend And we won't be fooled again, we won't be fooled again It used to be I had a secret or two But that made us all nervous, and just wouldn't do So we hired some folks to keep a tap on my line And we won't be fooled again, we won't be fooled again I can sleep well at night, our democracy is strong We've elected fine people heirs to the thrown To preserve and protect and get rich while they can And we won't be fooled again, we won't be fooled again I used to worry about freedom, used to pray for the poor Now things have changed and I don't do that no more 'Cause I'm free as a bird in a cage in a mine And we won't be fooled again, we won't be fooled again Folks like to tell me "fish or cut bait" All your bitching and moaning, why not move out of state? But I love everything about this country, except them... And we won't be fooled again, we won't be fooled again You can fool me once, that's a shame on me Next time you do it is red I will see But if lightening should strike me three times and I'm dead I won't be fooled again, I won't be fooled again. I won't be fooled when I'm dead in the ground, I won't be fooled again. I won't be fooled when they bury my old bones, I won't be fooled again.

black sand 04:12
Words and music by Ben Hunsberger September, 2005 © 2005 Welcome Farm Music Black sand shows your footsteps on the beach Every wave gently breaks finds them just out of reach Your plan works away at my defenses Every wave draws me closer to a time when it is complete The castle wall begins to crumble at my feet Water's rising, there's nowhere to retreat You dance with the moonlight in your eyes A bend in your hips, your fingers caressing the skies Black sand wears away at my defenses Every wave draws me deeper in the sea of your rising tide The wall is breached, I can't swim for higher ground The swirling waters loose my grip and draw me down I stand a prisoner of your love Every wave is a wall, the stars form a ceiling above Black sand has me shacked by the feet And I'm forced to my knees to confess what I'm guilty of You make me question everything I know If I surrender you'll incarcerate my soul in black sand.

charmed life 03:36
Words and music by Ben Hunsberger Sep, 2006 © 2006 Ben Hunsberger I lead a charmed life Bouncing from one good thing to the next Days seem to roll by Like a script has been written and I'm reading the text I'm sure there's a catch that I haven't seen yet That suddenly turns out the light But for now it's all right, there's no end in sight I lead a charmed life I lead a charmed life Good friends and family, a good place to live I give it my best try And make my mistakes, and they seem to forgive I look out the window and watch winter's wind blow And cover the world with ice But the dreams of the night are vivid and bright I lead a charmed life I lead a charmed life A delicate balance, a dance on the waves There's no telling how or why Or when it will end, could be years or days Sooner or later the things I'm afraid of May sneak up and give me the knife For now it's all right, I sleep well at night I lead a charmed life I lead a charmed life.
